Wappingers Congress of Teachers Food Drive May 18-27

The Wappingers Congress of Teachers is sponsoring a food drive in each of our buildings during May 18th-27th. Staff, students, and parents are encouraged to bring in non-perishable food items and place them in the collection boxes that will be in or near the main office in each building.

The food drive will benefit the Zion Food Pantry, which is 100% non-denominational with regard to the people they assist. This food pantry serves 65-70 families per week and recently they were able to give each of their 70 clients:

• 1 box of cereal
• 2 cans of tuna fish
• 2 cans of fruit
• 2 cans of vegetables
• 2 cans of soup
• 2 boxes of macaroni and cheese
• 1 jar of peanut butter
• 1 jar of jelly
• 1 jar/can of spaghetti sauce
• 1 box of pasta
• 1 can of stew

Donations are not limited to the above list, but are an example of what the food pantry might supply to the families each week.
